The San Diego Bicycle Touring Society offers:

  • Steady 45 to 50 mile Saturday rides.
  • Hard but measured-pace 70 to 100 mile Sunday rides.
  • Recreational-paced 25 to 55 mile Tuesday rides.
  • Some overnights and summer trips in the Sierras or the Grand Canyon area.
  • Rides start at various San Diego County locations and cover most of San Diego county.

For a free bulletin with all the rides call 619-426-8192 and leave name and number on the machine, or visit the Performance Bike Shop at 7730 Ronson Rd. (Ronson and Convoy) and check the free ride bulletins.

The Tuesday Ride schedule follows; for the Saturday and Sunday rides please obtain a complete bulletin and membership application. A scanned image of the ride schedule is also available online: page 1 and page 2. All Tuesday rides meet at 9:15 AM and leave at 9:30 AM (except where noted otherwise).

  • 40 miles Tuesday January 3 B Join Bruce (619-583-5652) for that Dam Ride! Meet in the parking lot south of the Mission Bay Visitor Information Center on E. Mission Bay Dr. at Clairemont Dr. (Thomas 1248 D7). Leave at 9:30 AM. Mapquest link

  • 35 miles Tuesday January 10 C+ Join Hersh (619-687-6309) For a tour of East County. Meet at Lake Murray upper parking lot on Kiowa Dr. off Lake Murray Blvd. (Thomas 1250 F7). Leave at 9:30 AM.

  • 40 miles Tuesday January 17 B Join John (619-647-3212) for an East County Ramble. Meet at West Hills Park on the south side of Mast Blvd. east of Highway 52 in Santee (Thomas 1230 H5) (just west of high school). Leave at 9:30 AM.

  • 40 miles Tuesday January 24 B Join Christopher (619-255-5360) for an El Salvadoreño lunch. Meet at Pepper Park at the south end of Tidelands Ave. in National City (Thomas 1309 G5). (Suggested route: Take the Bay Marina Dr. exit from I-5, go west on Bay Marina Dr. and turn left on Tidelands Ave.) Leave at 9:30 AM.

  • 35 miles Tuesday January 31 B- Join Bruce (619-583-5652) to Gillespie Field. Meet at Lake Murray upper parking lot on Kiowa Dr. off Lake Murray Blvd. (Thomas 1250 F7). Leave at 9:30 AM.

  • 48 miles Tuesday February 28 B Join Jim (858-453-4587) to Vista for Lunch. Meet at Moonlight Beach, upper parking lot, 4th St. and C St. in Encinitas (Thomas 1147 B7). Leave at 9:30 AM.

  • 35 miles Tuesday March 6 B- Join Hersh (619-697-6309) for a Tour of East County. Meet at Lake Murray upper parking lot on Kiowa Dr. off Lake Murray Blvd. (Thomas 1250 F7). Leave at 9:30 AM.

  • 45 miles Tuesday March 13 B+ Join John (619-647-3212) for an Adventure in Escondido. Meet at Arbolitos Sports Field, 14401 Pomerado Rd., on the east side of Pomerado Rd. just south of Ted Williams Parkway in Poway (Thomas 1190 C-1). Leave at 9:30 AM. Mapquest link
