The San Diego Bicycle Touring Society offers:

  • Steady 45 to 50 mile Saturday rides.
  • Hard but measured-pace 70 to 100 mile Sunday rides.
  • Recreational-paced 25 to 55 mile Tuesday rides.
  • Some overnights and summer trips in the Sierras or the Grand Canyon area.
  • Rides start at various San Diego County locations and cover most of San Diego county.

For a free bulletin with all the rides call 619-426-8192 and leave name and number on the machine, or visit the Performance Bike Shop at 7730 Ronson Rd. (Ronson and Convoy) and check the free ride bulletins.

The Tuesday Ride schedule follows; for the Saturday and Sunday rides please obtain a complete bulletin and membership application. A scanned image of the ride schedule is also available online: page 1 and page 2. All Tuesday rides meet at 9:15 AM and leave at 9:30 AM (except where noted otherwise).

  • 59 miles Tuesday September 7 B+ Join Jim (858-453-4587) for Lunch at Proud Mary's in Dana Point. Meet in the free parking lot east of Oceanside Harbor, near the tunnel under the railroad tracks. Save gas, take the Coaster to Oceanside (For information call 511 or visit www.gonctd.com.) Leave at 9:30 AM.

  • 35 miles Tuesday September 14 C+ Join Bruce (619-583-5652) for Coronado with the Point Loma Lighthouse. Meet at Pepper Park at the south end of Tidelands Ave. in National City (Thomas 1309 G5). (Suggested route: Take the Bay Marina Dr. exit from I-5, go west on Bay Marina Dr. and turn left on Tidelands Ave.) Take money (currently $3.75) for the Coronado Ferry. Leave at 9:30 AM.

  • 55 miles Tuesday October 5 B+ Join John A (619-647-3212) for Lunch In Fallbrook. Meet in the free parking lot east of Oceanside Harbor, near the tunnel under the railroad tracks. Save gas, take the Coaster to Oceanside (For information call 511 or visit www.gonctd.com.) Leave at 9:30 AM.

  • 44 miles Tuesday October 12 C+ Join John A (619-647-3212) for a ride to Poway and around. Meet at the Park & Ride lot on the south side of Carmel Valley Rd. just west of I-5. Leave at 9:30 AM.

  • 45 miles Tuesday October 19 B Join Sal (619-507-8241) for around South Bay with lunch in Coronado. Meet at McDonald's on Telegraph Canyon Rd. one block east of I-805 (Thomas 1310 G7). Leave at 9:30 AM. Mapquest link

  • 47 miles Tuesday October 26 B+ Join John A (619-647-3212) for the Mount Laguna Triangle Ride. Meet near the Post Office behind Major's Diner at 28870 Old Highway 80 in Pine Valley. (Take I-8 east to the Pine Valley exit.) Leave at 9:30 AM. Hilly! Mapquest link

  • 40 miles Tuesday November 2 C+ Join Bruce (619-583-5652) for an East County Ramble. Meet at Lake Murray, upper parking lot, off Lake Murray Blvd. at Kiowa Dr. (Thomas 1250 F7). Leave at 9:30 AM.

  • 27 miles Tuesday November 9 C- C- Join Joan (619-298-5506) for a ride to Linda Vista & around. Meet in the parking lot south of the Mission Bay Visitor Information Center on E. Mission Bay Dr. at Clairemont Dr. (Thomas 1248 D7). Leave at 9:30 AM. Mapquest link
